The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec is pleased to award the CALQ Prize – Artist of the Year in Laval to pianist and composer Marianne Trudel. This award, which comes with a cash prize of $10,000, was presented by André Racette, Director at the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, during an evening organized by Culture Laval at the Théâtre Marcellin-Champagnat in Laval.
“Marianne Trudel’s work crosses borders and has an incredible reputation. The artist’s technique is worthy of a virtuoso! Her compositions, both dynamic and moving, transport us to a unique universe whose harmonies go beyond the framework of standard jazz,” mentioned the members of the jury assembled by the Council.
To discover the work of Marianne Trudel, a video capsule on her artistic approach is available on La Fabrique culturelle, Télé-Québec's digital cultural platform.
