Dans la forêt de ma mémoire

National Jazz Orchestra of Montreal

On this debut album from the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal, conductor Christine Jensen conducts the "Femmes de jazz" concert, presented by the Orchestre national de jazz on May 1, 2014 at L'Astral in the Maison du Festival de jazz in Montreal. This concert notably featured pianist and composer Marianne Trudel.

Assuming the poetic aspect that author and jazz aficionado Stanley Péan associates with her music, Marianne Trudel composed a piece for the occasion entitled Dans la forêt de ma mémoire, presented as a world premiere at this concert. Singer Anne Schaefer, the voice behind her soaring melodies, and trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, internationally renowned for her virtuosity and sensitivity, were also on hand. Marianne Trudel also asked Robbie Kuster, Patrick Watson's exceptional drummer, to take part in the creation of her piece.
